Gas Inspection G608
Gas Inspection for
Yachts G608
Our inspections are carried out by a certified expert of the German Association for Liquefied Gas (DVFG) in accordance with the technical requirements of DIN EN ISO 10239 and the DVGW worksheet G 608.
Why is the gas inspection important?
The regular inspection of the liquefied gas system is crucial for safety on board. According to EU regulations, liquefied gas systems on recreational boats must be inspected every two years. This inspection is part of the operating license and a legal obligation for the boat owner.
After a successful inspection, you will receive:
✅ An inspection sticker for your boat
✅ An entry in the inspection certificate (blue inspection book)
A valid inspection sticker and certificate are prerequisites for the safe operation of your liquefied gas system and are required by many harbors and berth regulations.
Insurance coverage & legal requirements
The gas inspection also plays a crucial role in terms of insurance. In the event of damage, owners must prove that all necessary safety measures have been taken – this includes the inspection according to G 608 or equivalent national regulations.
The ISO 10239 standard governs the installation and initial inspection of gas systems for small watercraft (2.5 to 24 meters). For follow-up inspections, the national regulations of the respective countries apply. The “Technical Rule G 608” of the DVFG is internationally recognized and accepted in Germany, the Netherlands, and other European countries.
Important Note
Pressure regulators and hose lines must be replaced at least every six years.
